This term Te Maunga has been about learning T - Shaped Literacy. We have been doing activities to learn about the weather on a Google Slide to fill in a chart that we had. We had to read some texts about the weather. I chose to do an advertisement and compare the weather from another country to New Zealand.

Makerspace
Yesterday we did a makerspace, it was the melting ice block challenge. First we cut the tin foil to fit the lid then we hot glued it down. Next we poured heaps of salt in the container. The ice blocks melted completely. I think it didn’t work because there was no ice or any water.

CyberSmart & Kawa of Care
A lady named Deborah came into Te Maunga to tell us some things about cybersmart and what we should be doing on our chromebooks. We had to make a copy of a google slide. We had a google slide and we had to screenshot the things that we are allowed to be on during school time. Deborah wasn’t here so Mr Ngata taught us what we should be on when we are on our chromebooks.

Project Energize
Every two weeks we went to Project Energize. A girl called Gina taught us how to eat healthy. There are four food groups there are grain, dairy, meat, fruit & vegetables. I learnt that thicker chips are healthier than thinner chips because thinner chips suck in more oil then thicker chips. I learnt that milk and water are healthier than fizzy drinks.

Cross Country
On Friday the 30th of August we went to Bledisloe to compete for Cross Country. I don’t know what place I came. I enjoyed being in front at the first bit. We practised at School. We went around the field and the court. I improved from practising for Cross Country.

Adele Broadbent
Te Ngahere and Te Maunga went to the whare to meet an author her name was Adele Broadbent. She was a very cheerful lady and really wanted to encourage us to read a lot more than we do. She told us to put most of our ideas in the middle of your story.
